Archbishop Michael J. Sheehan's Lenten Message for 2003

As Archbishop of Santa Fe, I am urging all clergy, religious and laity of the Archdiocese to pray and fast for peace on Ash Wednesday as we begin the Lenten season.

Our Holy Father, John Paul II, has asked Catholics throughout the world to dedicate their religious observance of Lent to praying for world peace, in particular in our relationship to Iraq and the Holy Land. Please keep this intention at the forefront of your prayers and observances during the Lenten season this year.

Thank you for your attention to this important appeal by John Paul II.

Most Reverend Michael J. Sheehan
Archbishop of Santa Fe
